Another Tent topper cad

Here's my 2nd tent topper for the day...Now to clean up the mess I've made!!!

This card is for a nail client of mine who is just gorgeous!!! She came to get her toes done with about a week before she was due. Now this young lady is normally toothpick size, so imagine her with a 9lb+ baby inside and with boobs!! She was just gorgeous pregnant, it suited her to waddle!!

Welcome to the world baby Sarah.

Shell xoxo

Hi everyone,
I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas and have recovered enough to celebrate the New Year in style!!
I've just completed a card style called "tent topper". I did this for a friends wedding this coming Saturday. I'm really pleased with how it turned out. I've continued the black, white and gold them on the inside of the card as well, with a little border of black hearts along the bottom layered onto the gold heart vellum along with 2 little red glitter hearts in the bottom right hand corner.
I have to make a baby card as well today and am thinking a nice monogram "S" (the baby's name is Sarah) on the circle bit with some lovely soft pinks and lilacs :) I'll post a picture if I get it done before midnight!!
If you'd like a WPC file of the card pattern just let me know and I'll email it off to you.
Have a wonderful day,
shell xoxo

Hi all,

Long time no chat!! Life has been hectic to say the least for the past couple of months. It's only 6

sleeps till the man in the red suit visits and I just can't believe how unprepared I am!! I'm on target for getting next years Christmas cards made so for those of you expecting a card from me this year, don't!!

I did however manage to make these gorgeous little night lights for some friends children. As an added bonus they double as money boxes complete with coin slot and rubber stopper in the base. They measure about 5'x5' so are really cute!

The glass brick/boxes I got from a local tile shop and then I just did a print and cut using my Gazelle with items from Letteringdelights.com.

I reckon they turned out pretty awesome and I hope Joel, Olivia and Brook like them as much as I do!

Have a wonderful Christmas everyone and I thank you for following my blog during 2009!

Loves, hugs & kisses,

shell xoxo

Have a look at these gorgeous glass bricks Alisa from De-signsmadebyme made. Aren't they just beautiful!!! The vinyl labels on the front were cut out using her Pazzles (similar to a Gazelle) and then she just decorated the top with some beautiful Christmas decorations and ribbon. She also drilled a hole in the back of the bricks and threaded through some Christmas lights. How easy and stunning is that?? Great job Alisa!!

Have a wonderful day,

Waterfall card

Morning everyone!
Here's a gorgeous waterfall card I did for a friends sons birthday.
Everything you see here was cut our using the Gazelle. All the animals were done using the reverse print and cut method. Even the border on the inside of the card was cut on gazza which impressed me no end as it's a fairly fine star design.
I'm off to do housework...though while my son is at the birthday party with his dad I might take advantage of the peace and quiet and check out some of my fave websites. It's stinking hot here already today and I've just put the air con on.....surely it's too hot to vacuum!! LOL

Gerbera Card

I made this card for a member of a card club I belong to. I don't think she'll be checking out my blog any time soon so here it is!! If you are a member of my card club and see this please DON'T tell her it's here!!!

I'd love to see your comments on this card. I'm really pleased with how it turned out. You can't really tell in the photo but the paper I made the flowers from has a type of glimmer mist sprayed on it and it looks all glimmery...glimmer mists are my new addiction!!! Everything on the card has been designed and cut out on my Gazelle, even the word "Friends" is done in Jac Paper and then had the glitter treament! I sooooooo love my Gazza!!!

Have a wonderful week,

Boo Boo Dragon

(Please excuse my night photography. Patience is NOT one of my strong points!!)

I have recently discovered an amazingly talented digital stamp designer by the name of Dustin Pike. You can check out some if his awesome work by visiting his website here and you can also purchase his images here for the extremely reasonable price of only $1USD. He also does some awesome stuff with modelling clay. On a recent post he made the cutest little dragon head while 'wasting a morning'!! Wish I could come up with some creations like he does will 'wasting' a morning!!
Once I saw this Boo Boo Dragon I just had to have him. Isn't he just gorgeous!! I did this card for an elderly client who comes to the salon regularly for a Flo wave. That's not a typo either!! Her name is Flo so she has a "flo" wave instead of a blow wave :) She had a fall recently and I thought this little guy might cheer her up.
Stay tuned for more of Dustins' images. I think I can feel another addiction coming on!!
Have a great week end,

Look what I got!!!

Hi All,
Look what I got today!! I am sooooooooo excited!!! When my friend Leesa rang
me last night to say my Tilda stamps that she had ordered for me from the UK over 2 weeks ago had arrived I nearly scared the woman standing next to me in the fruit and veg section half to death!! Mental note to self...do NOT squeal in the fruit and veg section of Safeway!

I got 8 Magnolia stamps and 1 Penny Black stamp set. I also got my consultant bonus set from SU! as well!! It feels like Christmas!! I can't wait to stamp tonight... which one will I use first??

Ok...I'm off to clean my house and get dinner ready so I don't feel guilty about shutting my office door tonight :)

Cheers,

Tri-Fold Shutter Card

Here's a card I made last night. I'm really pleased with how it turned out. It is cut entirely using my Gazelle. With the exception of the little butterflies. I figured out that by positioning what you want to cut where, you can make 4 cards using 4 sheets of card stock so it's a very economical and impressive card that needs very little in the way of embellishments. I think this would make a great going away card or a leaving card, lots of room for everyone to write their best wishes!
I used all SU! card stock and the Merci stamp is also SU! as is the little flower stamp you can just make out on the yellow card stock that I stamped with versamark.
If you'd like the file for this card complete with all layers of cut card stock, I've uploaded it over at the Yahoo group or you can email me directly for the file.
Enjoy,
shell xoxo

Here's something a little different for me. I 'tried' to move away from my bright colors, but I just had to have something bright on my card so I went for one little tiny piece of purple bling :)
I'm not entirely happy with this card, not sure why even, maybe because it just seems drab to me. Maybe Tilda should have been stamped on the oval instead of layering her on top of it....maybe it's the purple bling!! LOL
I have to say a huge thank you to Kellie Winnell for the technique I used to make the paper embellishment around the oval. Cool huh?? And it works just as well with different border punch patterns. You can find a link to Kellies' gorgeous blog in my links section.
Let me know what you think!

Here's a really quick card I made using my cuttlebug and the embossing folder called Formal squares. I embossed one of the squares onto a note card from SU! I then chalked the raised design, added a punched butterfly from some scrap silver paper I had (I never throw scraps out, you just never know when you might need them!! LOL), added a pink grossgrain bow and there you have it. Really quick and easy, and I think an elegant looking gift card to add to a bunch of flowers or a present.

Here's a really quick and easy card I put together for a birthday card. I used the Garden Whimsy set from SU! I randomly stamped the big butterfly with pixie pink and lovely lilac. The centre butterfly I versamarked, heat and sticked and then dazzlin' diamondized. The border punch is fiskars, and the flowers are just some I had laying around. I'm not totally happy with it. I think I might tinker and embellish a bit more :)

Yet another Tilda!

Here's another Tilda card I did for a friends 18th birthday. I really like the black matting on the words. The glitter words really had me worried. The paper has a kind of slick backing on it and I was dreading it not sticking to the gazelle mat properly, so I helped it along by running some snail adhesive at intervals just to give it some extra staying power!!
The card base, the words and matting are all cut using gazza. Tilda is coloured in using the Stampin' Up! wonder watercolour crayons. The little glitter flowers are by Heidi Grace and I did some faux stitching using my Stabilo White Gel roller pen. On the inside of the card I cut out a border for the bottom edge in the same purple as the card mat using the fiskars "lazy summer" border punch.
Look out for more Tilda cards in the near future!! A friend (who shall henceforth be call "The Enabler") and I have ordered some Tilda and Edwin stamps from the UK. Check out http://www.sirstampalot.co.uk/ for some gorgeous stamps!!!
Till later,
Happy Stampin'!!
shell xoxo

A Tilda Thank You!

Here's my most recent Tilda creation. I apologise in advance for the bad photography!! I really tried to get a pic of the shimmer/glitter of her wings, I think I need to learn patience and take pictures in natural daylight!!!
Everything except Tilda was cut using my Gazelle. I could have done the faux stitching as well but removed my card stock before I thought about it!!!
I'm really please with the colours and how she turned out. I'm also beginning to like the 'skewiff' look.
Have a wonderful day,

Tilda and "The Bug"

It's been an exciting week for me this week!! My new (to me) Cuttlebug arrived and I Tilda came home safe and sound to me after an extended visit to a friends place. Soooooooo...to celebrate their arrival I made this little Thinking of You card.
It's nothing special but I loved water colouring again!! Can you see I used the Paisley embossing folder with my bug?? Did I mention I LOVE my bug!! I'm eventually going to try my hand at making my own folders on my Gazelle...after I nail the print and cuts that is! I also used Gazza to cut out the scalloped oval and sentiment oval. It's so much easier if you put in your actual page measurements rather than the default 12x12 I always used. In this case the page was only 9x6cm and it made it so much easier to cut more accurately. I also used a Fiskars border punch, I think it's called "elegant".
I'm not sure you can see it here, but I also used a bit of dazzlin' diamonds on the embossed page and some pearls on the side border.
Did you notice everything is slightly off centre?? I am usually so anal about having everything centrally spaced I wanted to branch out and try something a tad different. I quite like the effect! It's not so 'ordered'. Oh...did you know that if you click on the picture it will open up larger ina new window so you can see the detail better?? I learnt that only today!!! LOL
Stay safe and happy crafting!!

Hi again!! I know it's been ages since I've blogged ANYTHING, but I'm back and hopefully will keep things a little more updated than I have been!!
Here's a card and matching shoe I made for a friends 40th birthday. The flowers were cut from designer paper from Kaszazz and the little flowers are from heidi grace designs. The glitter paper is what I picked up from the Paper show I went to with Alisa...it is just gorgeous. The photo doesn't do it justice!
Not sure if you can see it or not, but the black border on the card has been lined with diamontes as well. I've called this set "It's all about the bling" which suits my friend perfectly!!
Hope you like it!!

My little Tilda has arrived!!!!

Isn't she just gorgeous!?!?!

She arrived in the mail yesterday and I couldn't wait to stamp her and colour her in!! This is a very quick go because I just couldn't wait till I had a block of free time, so she was done in between getting lunch ready and vacuuming!!!

I promise my next effort will be coloured in better and I will do her justice!!

I got Tilda from a web shop called Scrappin' Kats. They are the cheapest I've found for Tilda and they even refunded my excess postage. You can't ask for better customer service than that!! Make sure you check them out here.

Have a wonderful day!!

Check out this gorgeous shoe!!!! My dear friend Alisa (AKA "The Enabler") made a file for the Gazelle to cut these babies out. Didn't she do a fantastic job?? I just had to share my creation.
Check out her blog to see what she's done with the file as well. You can now have as many pairs of shoes as you like in any style or design you like as well!! If you're interested in making your own shoes, and have a digital cutter as well, drop Alisa a line and she'll let you know how to purchase it. Of course, if you don't have a cutter you can cut these by hand, not sure if Alisa has a file with the dimensions for you to do this, but I'm sure she won't mind you asking!
Have a wonderful day!

Easter Bunny Basket

How cute is this little dude?? I found this gorgeous little fella on Yvonne's blog. I did make one using the punches she suggested from Stampin' Up!, but then I decided to test my design skills out and do all the pieces on my Gazelle using the Funtime Software.
I managed the body shape no probs, I even did the paws, no idea how so don't ask, but when it came to making the simple box design, well, let's just say it wasn't as simple as I thought it would be!! Once again my dear friend Alisa came to my aid and did it in about 2 seconds flat!!
I tried to track down some flocked paper for bunny's body today, but there's nothing within my budget. I absolutely refuse to buy 1 piece of paper for $5 no matter how much I want it!!

After some chalking of the edges and some gluing together, plus I replaced the black eyes in the pattern with googly eyes, here he is....way too cute!!

If you want the WPC file for cutting this out on your cutter, just drop me a line and I'll forward it on to you.
I also wanted to share a picture of my little man fast asleep in mummy's bed. I went to check on him (he has a cold so is sleeping with mum right now) and I found him like this, sound asleep with his leg just hanging in space. I couldn't have been comfortable but he didn't seem to mind!
Cheers for now,

Hi everyone,

Here's a page I was asked to do as a leaving gift for someone.
It took me forever to do and I learnt a very valuable lesson from it...do NOT try and cut intricate letters or designs with Bazzill cardstock or use transfer tape on it!!!!
It is the WORST paper I have ever cut!!! LOL But the results I think were well worth the effort.
The ship in the middle is paper tole and has a 3D effect to it. I think it looks great.
Have a great day!

My little man..

Sorry for the long delay in posting! I just wanted to share a scrap page I did of my little man. How cute is he?? His dad and he were playing on the Playstation and of course Cam had to have the steering wheel to help daddy drive properly!! It was so funny watching him steer!! I thought I was the only one who leaned into corners :)
I promise to do an update on Sunday...hopefully with one of the new stamp sets coming out on the 1st of April!!

Two New Cards

Hi All,
My apologies for the extended delay in posting here, it's been a verrrry long week!!
Anyways, my Kaszazz order arrived today and I just wanted to share the 2 cards I've made so far.
The first one is a Sympathy card for my sons Kinder teacher whose Grandma passed away last week and the second one is a Get Well card for my neice who has been in hospital this last week. GET WELL SOON EM!!!!
Even though these stamps are not Stampin' Up! I have used the Wonder Water Colour Crayons on these projects. I LOVE the crayons. They are soooo easy to use and can give an unlimited colour range and effects. I also used versamark inkpad and Stampin' Up! gold embossing powder. The stamped greetings are from the Sincere Salutations stamp set.
Today is also a very sad day as I said farewell to my Pink Wishblade. Let's hope Mel enjoys her as much as I did!!

Have a wonderful day,

Gazza's Here!!!

My new baby Gazza is here!! I am sooooooooo excited!!! A huge big hug and thank you to Alisa for 'popping over' and setting him up for me. THANK YOU!!!!
This is just a very basic sample of what he can do! I just cut all this out with some Bali Breeze DSP and a sheet of Barely Banana 12x12 textured cardstock. This picture doesn't do it justice....It looks AMAZING!!!
I'm off to cut a couple of butterflies from some glitter cardstock to add to it.
I am THRILLED!!
Don't forget, if you'd like more info on these fabulous machines, drop Alisa a line or visit her website listed in my links section.

Good Bye Wishblade....

Those of you who know me know I LOVE my Wishblade!! It is with a slight tear in my eye that I announce she's moving on to a new home. I know Mel will take good care of her!!
I can hear the gasps of shock from here!!! Don't fret, I haven't had a complete breakdown...I'm upgrading to a Gazelle!!
My new baby "Gazza" is kinda like the grown up version of a Wishblade in that it can cut 12x12 papers and chipboard too, not to mention fabulous sugar coated papers and glitter card stock.
I hope to take ownership of Gazza this week so be ready to be dazzled by my craftiness in the near future!!
These little boxes were created in the Funtime Software to be cut out with the Gazelle, Wishblade or Pazzles Inspiration. It is AMAZING!!! The machine does ALL the cutting for you!!! You simply put them together and embellish any way you want. Too easy!!
There is sooooo much you can do with one of these nifty little machines.
A huge thank you to Alisa who gave permission for me to show off her handy work and design skills. If anyone would like more information about these fabulous, can not live without machines, then please check out Alisa's web site at http://www.de-signsmadebyme.com.au/ . Her customer service is second to none and her technical support is nothing short of brilliant!! I'm sure she won't mind answering any question you might have.

I've been really slack in my papercrafting this week...I've been glued to the TV and ninemsn waiting for news on the horrors unfolding here in Victoria and waiting with baited breath that Yackandandah will escape the inferno headed it's way. Anyways, I decided I had better post something and the only decent pic I could find is this one!

The stamp sets used are Eastern Bl oms from the Summer Mini, With Thanks and the butterfly is from the Time Well Spent Hostess set. I'm not 100% sure on the card stock colours though!! The scalloped edging was done with the long scallop punch also from the Summer Mini. The half pearls are kiesercraft and the ribbon was just a scrap piece that fit!!

Take care,

shell xoxo

Big Bird :D

My apologies for the photo quality!!

Here's a quick idea perfect to attach to big paper clips, bamboo sticks, pencils or straws for birthday parties. For the face I've used the Stampin' Up! scallop punch, for the mouth I've used the large and small oval punches and for the eyes I used the circles that are made when you use a hole punch. For Big Birds feathers on his head I've used the large oval punch again and kinda offset the second punch to form a kind of nike tick. You can punch 2 heads out to cover the front and back of the item you're attaching him to. He's super cute and super easy. I've also made Elmo, Cookie Monster and The Grouch. If anyone knows of great sites for making punch art please let me know!!

February Thank You Cards.

Here's the little Thank You card all my customers will be receiving with their orders during the month of February. It's a simple 3x3 card and I've used the large butterfly and the little solid flower from the Bold Butterfly stamp set. The card is cut from a 12x12 piece of textured lovely lilac cardstock. The green is a 2.5x2.5 piece of Always Artichoke. You can't see it in the picture but I've also outlined the butterfly's wings and the centre of the flower with Dazzlin' Diamonds. I've added finishing touches with some copper wire for antennae and some faux stitching. This is a really simple little card that can be produced enmass if need be.
Have a great day,
