Birthday Party Invitations

Hi all,

I'm in the middle of making these birthday invitations for my little man's 6th Birthday!!! OMG!!! where have 6 years gone??

Anyways, the girls are in pink/purple colours and the boys are in blues.

Everything has been cut out on Gazza except for the little stars that I bought from our local $2 shop.

Details on the party are on the back.

Hopefully I'll be getting a lot more crafting done soon. Christmas is only 8 and a bit weeks away and I have cards to make and place settings to create.......well that's the plan, more or less :)

Have a great day,

An update

Hello dear blog readers,

It's been a while between posts I know. But as always, every now and then life tends to lead you down a different path than the one you actually want to go down.

I've been really busy with my real job the past few weeks, so the few days I have had off in between have been devoted to my dear hubby and gorgeous little man with housework fitting in there somewheres. There hasn't been a lot of time for crafting at all.

I did make it out to Alisa's last Sunday for a beginners workshop on the Gazelle, so I got to sit all day and make a paper orchid that I found in a recent paper sculpting magazine. Actually, making it up didn't take very long at all and I just generally slouched around for most of the day! The orchid will be my next post so keep an eye out for it.

You know how things always happen in three's? Well this week has been my '3' week!! It all started when I went to Alisa's. She is an hours drive from my place. My hubby had arranged to help a friend out by taking some rubbish to the tip for her and needed my car with the tow bar on it to do so. All well and good, I take his car to Alisa's only to have him call me at 10am asking where my car keys were!!! Safe and sound in my handbag!! I was cracking the poos big time when Alisa's darling husband Ted came to the rescue and drove the keys home for me. A 2 hour round trip!! THANK YOU TED!!!!! Isn't he a darling?? And Alisa gives him such a hard time *grins*!!

The second thing was a very irate client whose appointment I hadn't transferred over from one diary to another properly, totally my fault and I admit that and apologised profusely for it, but she saw fit to abuse me for it in front of a fellow co-worker and 2 clients! Now I know I mucked up and tried to organise something for her that would suit her but that wasn't good enough for her. Her ranting really threw me. I know I have my blonde moments and I know her appointment being stuffed up my fault, but for goodness sake, it was a nail appointment!!! Get over it sunshine!! I didn't see fit to abuse her when she was 20 minutes late for one of her appointments which cost me money in rent!! **DEEP BREATHES**

The third thing wasn't really anything to do with me, but I was present so I'm claiming it as mine in the hopes of holding off anything else that might want to throw my week out of kilter. LOL

OK, I've bored you enough with my raving I'm sure, I hope to get a picture of the orchid up later on today. I'm off to Geelong shortly to see my dad and his fiancee for lunch.

Have a great day and thanks for dropping by.

Exploding Box

Hi everyone,

Here's an exploding box I've made for a dear friend of mine as a little thank you gift for organising a crafting weekend away for some fellow addicts.

The flowers on top are lillies which is perfect as the dogs name in the pictures is Lily!

The box is based on a folded 12 x 12 paper design but in this version I have cut 9 of 4 x 4 inch squares and joined them using ribbon.

Everything inside the box is of course cut out on my gazelle.

If you'd like the instructions for this box just send me off an email and I'll get it to you ASAP.

Thanks for looking!

Magnolia Stamps

There's something about the Magnolia stamp range that I just love. Don't ask me what it is but I am drawn to them for some reason that I can't put my finger on. Even Edwin has captivated me.

Here's a card I did for my nieces 19th birthday. Very plain and orangey, but I really like it. Her wings are painted in kindy glitz crystalina and look lovely and shimmery. Everything is of course cut out using my gazelle, except the paper flowers.

Have a great day,

Engaged!!

Well, here's some news sure to shock some of my followers, so please make sure you're sitting down before reading any further!!

My dad announced last Monday that he and Maree are now engaged!!! CONGRATULATIONS!!

So not only did he move out only 2 weeks ago but he has now gone and got himself almost hitched. Obviously this called for an engagement card and when I saw this stamp I thought it was perfect if a little cheeky!! I coloured the image using my copics. Of course everything except the ribbon was cut out using gazza!

Cheers,

Autumn card swap

The Yahoo! Funtime group I belong to had a card swap amongst it's members and this is the autumn themed card I did for my swap partner, It's really clean and simple but I really like the way it turned out.

Enjoy,

Rambling Paper Rose

Hi everyone,

Long time no post!

The other day my dear friend Alisa pointed me to this most talented lady's blog for a WPC template to make a perfect Rambling Rose. The lady who was gracious enough to allow me to feature this rose is Lauren Meader. So THANK YOU LAUREN!! She has some truly gorgeous cut files, so hop on over and have a look. You can find Lauren's blog here. You will also find the instructions on how to make this gorgeous rose. I have tweeked the sculpting of the paper a little and I have also adjusted the size of the template to make a bigger rose. So easy to do if you own a pazzles, Gazelle or wishblade. Lauren also offers a PDF file of the template if you only own a good old fashioned pair of scissors or a trusty craft knife.

I'd love to see some of your rose creations!

Take care for now,

Getting ready for Paperific!

Well we are off to Paperific this weekend. I can't WAIT!! 3 whole days with Alisa and GO talking nothing but the Gazelle!! Feel free to drop by the De-signs Made By Me! stand and say G'day!

Here are a couple of vinyl stencil/silhouettes I cut out using Gazza (of course) I am thrilled at how they came out. You'd pay a fortune for something like this in the shops! It took all of 20 mins for all 4 canvases to be designed, cut and assembled. I'm going to try photocuts in the not too distane future so keep an eye out for them.

Have a great long weekend whatever it is you decide to do.

Paper Wedding Cakes

I'm really on a roll right now!

Check out these cute little wedding cakes made entirely from paper! They'd make fantastic little bonboniere holders or table decorations. You could even make them into birthday cakes and give them out as part favours filled with yummy goodies!

They are dead easy to make. One complete cake out of just one 12 x 12 piece of paper. The patterns I've used here are copyrighted but the templates would be easy enough to make yourself. Any box type shape is perfect. Resize to suit the layers and viola!! Cake good enough to eat and NO calories!!

Let me know what you think!

Sweet Bouquet

Well I'm back from my Summer Sabbatical!! I kinda lost my mojo there after Christmas but I'm now back with a vengance!!

I'm busily trying to think of things to make to take to Paperific which is happening the weekend of 5th-7th of March. Please feel free to drop by the De-Signs Made By me! stand where Alisa and I will be showing off the AMAZING Gazelle and Pazzles.

Isn't this little Bouquet of chup'a'chups gorgeous!! I'm guessing most of you have seen the paper strawberries that are popular right now. Well I turned them upside down and made them roses instead and filled them with chup'a'chups. Half a polystyrene ball, a metal bucket from the $2 shop and some nice paper for filler and there you have the easiest, cutest and cheapest dozen roses bouquet you can make!

If anyone would like the strawberry/rose file just drop me an email. I've only got it WPC format.

I've also listed some of my SU! stamp sets on eBay. My user ID is shellsub70 if you'd like to check them out.

Have a wonderful day!

Shell xoxo
