Paint Chips!

I have a new love! Paint chips!! Colour coordinated and usually FREE!! My local paint place gave me a box of about 500 they were just going to throw out. SCORE!!

Here's a quick punched card I did. I did plan on sticking the butterflies on in a rainbow formation but it was just too fiddly. The book mark was stamped in versa mark and heat embossed. So cheap and easy and a quick to make little thank you token to the lady at the paint shop!

Have a great day!

Winter wonderland :)

I have officially finished making cards for the card swap I'm in!! 2 months ahead of schedule!!! WOOT!!

Here's the card I made for next months theme which is "Winter Wonderland".

I LOVE this card. It's so sparkly and shiny and BLINGY!!

Everything was cut out on my gazelle and the word 'sparkle' was done with my foiler. If you want to know what a foiler is and what it does just check out this site www.de-signsmadebyme.com.au . It's an awesome gadget to own if you're a cardmaker!!

Stay safe everyone and thanks for visiting my blog.

Boys will be boys!

After a delightful, and very rare, long week end for me I managed to get a couple of cards done for the card swap I'm in. This months theme is 'boys will be boys'. This is a case of another lady's card I saw somewhere on the interweb but I didn't book mark it!! So if this is you please let me know so I can credit you with the original idea :)

Everything was cut out on my gazelle then just layered up. The stars and the rocker outline are coated in a really thin glossy accents that you paint on with a nail polish brush. I really like using it for larger areas as it dries quickly and doesn't add a lot of glossy bulk but just a nice smooth, shiny glaze.

Have a great day!

Hi All!
Please excuse my photography skills today. It's too cold to go outside and take a photo so the next best place to do it was my desk!
I've recenly discovered a wonderful site that sells the most amazing cut files for a very reasonable price. Make sure you check out svgcuts.com. The Christmas tree above is one of their files and while it looks a little hard to assemble it was very, and surprisingly, easy to do. An added feature of this amazing site is the how to videos that show you exactly how to put together the item. Takes all the guess work out of it and you get the bonus of watching the lovely Mary in action :) Make sure you also check out their blog for some freebies and instructions for how to claim the free files they offer.
Hope everyone is staying warm and dry!

Cheers,

Shell xoxo

Test post!

Just testing to see how this app works :)

Aperture/Window card

I really am on a roll this week!!
Here's another card I've just completed. The theme is window/aperture card.
I was really stumped with this theme so I went googling! LOVE google!! I stumbled across a blog by Kristina Werner (http://www.kwernerdesign.com) and found this awesome little card. Kristina even provides the template for it for FREE!! In different cutting formats plus pdf.
I love the simplicity of this card. I was going to embellish it with grass and flowers but ended up leaving it clean like Kristina did.
Everything was cut out on my gazelle and all card stock used is American Crafts.
The next one I make I'm going to put a pane of acetate in it to really give it a window effect.
I hope you like it!
Cheers,

WOW!! 2 posts in 1 week!
I have now officially caught up in the card swap, well I will be once my cards are posted tomorrow!
Here's my take on the theme "On the farm".
The image is from a site called http://digiwebstudio.com. They have some really whimsical graphics that are great quality for print and cuts. The card base is a design by Alisa at http://de-signsmadebyme.com. Which is where I also purchased the card makers card stock and American Crafts card stock from :)
I think this simple card came out really well.
Enjoy!

Hi all,
OK, so my New Years resolution to blog at least weekly has gone a little astray....just a little!
Anyways, here's a card I made for the card swap I'm currently involved in. The theme was Autumn and I sooooo wasn't in a brown and gold and yellow mood so I googled flowers that bloom in Autumn and up came a gerbera. Gerberas are one of my favorite flowers, always so bright and cheery. They always seem like such a happy flower to me.
The card base is a design from the fabulous Monica Bjork. The flower I designed myself and the sentiment is a SU! stamp embossed with glitter sliver embossing powder.
Everything was, of course, cut out using my Gazelle.
This was a really quick and easy card. The longest part is waiting for the glue to dry!
I'm now off to watch the series return of Secret Diary of a call girl, love that show!
Have a great week,
Shell xoxo

Red, Black & White

Here's a card I did for our recent red, b;ack & white challenge. The only thing not done on my Gazelle is the flowers and the embossing that was done on the cuttlebug. The with love was a print and cut inspired by a SU! stamp. This was a really quick and easy card that I think looks lnice and clean and elegant. I hope the recpient likes it :)

I haven't addded anything to the inside of this card but I think I'm going to start adding some layers. Mainly because I think it makes the card feel a little more luxurious and complete.

Keep an eye out for an update tomorrow!

Monochrome Card

woooooohooooo!!!! Happy New Year!!!!!! Ok....one of my NY's resolutions is going great....I've blogged for the first week of 2012!!! LOL
Ok...here is a monochrome card I made for a card swap I'm involved in. It's a little late as it's the November swap, but I'm on a mission to catch up by tomorrow and even be ahead by getting January's card done!
I absolutely love the way this card turned out. To me it looks so elegant and blingy. Can you believe all I used was some ribbon, 3 roses my foil master, a gold leaf pen, some glitter and white card stock?? The gold edging you can see is just the edges of some white card colored in with the gold leaf pen.
The framed "S" was simply printed on my mono laser and then I ran it through my foil master with gold spectre foil. A pretty gold bow and some gold glitter and it was done.
I love, love, love this card and think it will be recycled for birthdays by simply changing the colour scheme and the monogram.
Did I mention that I also LOVE my Foil Master!?!?!?!?!? LOL
Enjoy!
