I don't know why I stopped blogging. It all just kind of petered out..... But I'm wanting to change that. I love paper. I love card making. I love blogging. So here's a card made for Mother's Day. The coloured paper is all the way from Japan. Hubby bought it back for me about 5 years ago after a work trip. I finally opened the pack yesterday :)

My step mum loves butterflies and they featured in their wedding so I chose this butterfly flourish for their frame.<br />
<br />
The antenna on the flourish is hair fine in some places but the cougar didn't miss a beat and cut this whole design perfectly in one go.<br />
<br />
LOVE MY COUGAR PRO!! <br />
<br />
Hope they like it! <br/><br/><div class="separator"style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-uwO48ujb00A/UQZVRhs-lPI/AAAAAAAABN4/IYOlMSZTYdA/s640/blogger-image-178954819.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-uwO48ujb00A/UQZVRhs-lPI/AAAAAAAABN4/IYOlMSZTYdA/s640/blogger-image-178954819.jpg" /></a></div>shellhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05982364848477312718noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2676555794920781578.post-62677878598648253812013-01-28T21:35:00.001+11:002013-01-28T21:35:59.499+11:0050th wedding anniversary giftI made this for my in-laws 50th wedding anniversary. The words and flourish we're all cut out of vinyl and mirrored so when they are stuck onto the glass the cast a shadow on the picture behind giving a 3D effect to the whole thing. The photo behind I created using Craft Artist to make the image a black and white one and to wash out the image. I am thrilled at how my cougar cut this and how the finished product turned out. <br/><br/><div class="separator"style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://lh6.googleusercontent.com/-5shRJ7Wjwug/UQZUi4lARBI/AAAAAAAABNw/dC_c42Olotc/s640/blogger-image-330887451.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://lh6.googleusercontent.com/-5shRJ7Wjwug/UQZUi4lARBI/AAAAAAAABNw/dC_c42Olotc/s640/blogger-image-330887451.jpg" /></a></div>shellhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05982364848477312718noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2676555794920781578.post-71198966546772720512012-08-13T20:07:00.001+10:002012-08-13T20:07:44.311+10:00Paint Chips!I have a new love! Paint chips!! Colour coordinated and usually FREE!! My local paint place gave me a box of about 500 they were just going to throw out. SCORE!!<br />
<br />
Here's a quick punched card I did. I did plan on sticking the butterflies on in a rainbow formation but it was just too fiddly. The book mark was stamped in versa mark and heat embossed. So cheap and easy and a quick to make little thank you token to the lady at the paint shop!<br />
<br />
Have a great day!<br />

This months theme is 'boys will be boys'. This is a case of another lady's card I saw somewhere on the interweb but I didn't book mark it!! So if this is you please let me know so I can credit you with the original idea :)<br />
<br />
Everything was cut out on my gazelle then just layered up. The stars and the rocker outline are coated in a really thin glossy accents that you paint on with a nail polish brush. I really like using it for larger areas as it dries quickly and doesn't add a lot of glossy bulk but just a nice smooth, shiny glaze.<br />
<br />
Have a great day!<br />

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Hi All!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Please excuse my photography skills today. It's too cold to go outside and take a photo so the next best place to do it was my desk!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
I've recenly discovered a wonderful site that sells the most amazing cut files for a very reasonable price. Make sure you check out <a href="http://www.svgcuts.com/" target="_blank">svgcuts.com</a>. The Christmas tree above is one of their files and while it looks a little hard to assemble it was very, and surprisingly, easy to do. An added feature of this amazing site is the how to videos that show you exactly how to put together the item. Takes all the guess work out of it and you get the bonus of watching the lovely Mary in action :) Make sure you also check out their blog for some freebies and instructions for how to claim the free files they offer.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Hope everyone is staying warm and dry!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Cheers,</div>

The only thing not done on my Gazelle is the flowers and the embossing that was done on the cuttlebug. The with love was a print and cut inspired by a SU! stamp. This was a really quick and easy card that I think looks lnice and clean and elegant. I hope the recpient likes it :)<br /><br />I haven't addded anything to the inside of this card but I think I'm going to start adding some layers. Mainly because I think it makes the card feel a little more luxurious and complete.<br /><br />Keep an eye out for an update tomorrow!<br /><br />Shell xshellhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05982364848477312718noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2676555794920781578.post-54520309708368022342012-01-01T17:57:00.002+11:002012-01-01T18:06:03.897+11:00Monochrome Card<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-rzfgAd9KCFU/TwAEKnMbbLI/AAAAAAAABHs/wO439tAZ9wY/s1600/mono3.JPG"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; width: 320px; height: 240px; text-align: center; display: block; cursor: pointer;" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5692554509362621618" border="0" alt="" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-rzfgAd9KCFU/TwAEKnMbbLI/AAAAAAAABHs/wO439tAZ9wY/s320/mono3.JPG" /></a><br /><div><a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-ckP1ek95myU/TwAEJ7e7fGI/AAAAAAAABHk/KxhtJxA6sS0/s1600/mono2.JPG"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; width: 240px; height: 320px; text-align: center; display: block; cursor: pointer;" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5692554497629060194" border="0" alt="" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-ckP1ek95myU/TwAEJ7e7fGI/AAAAAAAABHk/KxhtJxA6sS0/s320/mono2.JPG" /></a><br /><div><a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-ypFWEPdwkeg/TwAEJoJX18I/AAAAAAAABHU/Xs6zZSS6n1E/s1600/mono1.JPG"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; width: 240px; height: 320px; text-align: center; display: block; cursor: pointer;" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5692554492438370242" border="0" alt="" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-ypFWEPdwkeg/TwAEJoJX18I/AAAAAAAABHU/Xs6zZSS6n1E/s320/mono1.JPG" /></a><span id="SPELLING_ERROR_0" class="blsp-spelling-error">woooooohooooo</span>!!!! I have so <span id="SPELLING_ERROR_1" class="blsp-spelling-corrected">much to</span> share it's hard to know where to begin!! I'll start with a card.</div><br /><br /><div>I made this butterfly card for our little card swap group. For the splatter coloured <span id="SPELLING_ERROR_2" class="blsp-spelling-corrected">card stock</span> I used a spritz tool and just some cheapo markers and <span id="SPELLING_ERROR_3" class="blsp-spelling-corrected">spritzed</span> away. I love this effect and will be doing it again very soon! My butterfly is a print and cut using my new toy. Keep an eye out for coming posts about him :) See how close I got to his outline, and all with no fudge line either!! Awesome and dead easy compared to a regular gazelle print and cut. The sentiment was cut from vinyl. It's a little hard to tell from the picture but it is almost hair thin in some places. AMAZING detail! My butterfly was coloured in with my Spica pens. All shiny and shimmery. A bead of crystal effects for his body and your done.<br /></div><br /><div>Stayed tuned over the next couple of days to see what new goodies I have to play with and to see some more card creations as well!</div><br /><div></div><br /><div>Cheers,</div><br /><div></div><br /><div>shell <span id="SPELLING_ERROR_4" class="blsp-spelling-error">xoxo</span><br /></div><br /><div></div>shellhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05982364848477312718noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2676555794920781578.post-35586252637886794072011-08-09T21:30:00.002+10:002011-08-09T21:35:31.466+10:00white card stock challenge<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-Xvu4mSSfs8E/TkEaagw_hWI/AAAAAAAABGY/DFy1WCujkH8/s1600/photo.JPG"><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 320px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 240px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5638817251218916706" border="0" alt="" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-Xvu4mSSfs8E/TkEaagw_hWI/AAAAAAAABGY/DFy1WCujkH8/s320/photo.JPG" /></a> Hey everyone,
<br />
<br />here's a card I did for a challenge where you were only allowed to used white card stock and 1 other medium only. My other medium was H2O's.
<br />
<br />Everything you see here was cut out using my Gazelle difital die cutter. including the rose and the paper lace ribbon. Pretty cool huh?
<br />
<br />The rose and leaves were coloured with H2O's.
<br />
<br />The rose file is from My Time Made Easy and the lattice and ribbon are Monica Bjork files (she does some amazing work!!)
<br />
<br />This card was so easy to make and only took about 30 minutes to make not including waiting for the H2O's to dry. Impressive hey?
<br />
<br />Have a fabulous day!
<br />
<br />shell xoxo

The theme was "spring" so I decided to do a spring card :) I am thrilled at how it turned it. I can just imagine this as a card for a granny, something about the colours. Anyways, everything was cut out on gazza, except the bling in the middle of the flower and the butterfly. The word bloom was cut from gold vinyl. The flower was cut using some paper I bought from Dean last year. You can't see it in the picture but it has a lovely lustre to it, almost metallic. This is the card I came up with. The stamp is a free digital stamp from Broken Box Stamps. I colored this g\fabulous lady with my water color pencils and crystal glazed her dress and shoes. The flower is a prisma flower.<div><br /></div><div>I'm usually running late with these swaps but I've even managed to finish next months card!! I'll try again later.</div><div><br /></div><div>I hope everyone has a fabulous day celebrating being a mum :)</div><div><br /></div><div>Cheers,</div><div><br /></div><div>shell xoxo</div>shellhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05982364848477312718noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2676555794920781578.post-71832847183117264932011-04-11T14:47:00.002+10:002011-04-11T15:09:59.647+10:00Exploding box<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-D6sZR1BlIu8/TaKMhRXDj-I/AAAAAAAABEc/F_3QNAgcEIs/s1600/image.jpeg" onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}"><img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-D6sZR1BlIu8/TaKMhRXDj-I/AAAAAAAABEc/F_3QNAgcEIs/s320/image.jpeg" border="0" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5594188190371254242" /></a><br /><a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-Aowigz0nvtw/TaKMhYGdBOI/AAAAAAAABEU/JnIXNDYcV0I/s1600/image_3.jpeg" onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}"><img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-Aowigz0nvtw/TaKMhYGdBOI/AAAAAAAABEU/JnIXNDYcV0I/s320/image_3.jpeg" border="0" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5594188192180667618" /></a><br /><a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-HC3m3GerG2s/TaKMhGS2i7I/AAAAAAAABEM/YXwf7ue-vDA/s1600/image_2.jpeg" onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}"><img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-HC3m3GerG2s/TaKMhGS2i7I/AAAAAAAABEM/YXwf7ue-vDA/s320/image_2.jpeg" border="0" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5594188187400833970" /></a><br /><a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-2dll2KbMHu4/TaKMg2XChAI/AAAAAAAABEE/8YnTQtrNGAs/s1600/image_1.jpeg" onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}"><img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-2dll2KbMHu4/TaKMg2XChAI/AAAAAAAABEE/8YnTQtrNGAs/s320/image_1.jpeg" border="0" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5594188183123428354" /></a>Here's an exploding box I did at the request of a friend as a going away gift for a friend of hers. My apologies about the upside down pictures but I'm just learning about my new iPad and it's glitches, like upside down photo's!! Hopefully you'll get the idea!!! <div><br /></div><div>Cheers,</div><div><br /></div><div>shell xoxo</div>shellhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05982364848477312718noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2676555794920781578.post-52892223637538260202011-03-22T20:48:00.003+11:002011-03-22T20:58:11.265+11:00Female Ingenuity at it's best?<div><br /></div><div><br /></div><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-oMBl-0jIYYI/TYhw6TwrTQI/AAAAAAAABDw/hT8QhdXtlX0/s1600/bowmaker.jpg"><img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-oMBl-0jIYYI/TYhw6TwrTQI/AAAAAAAABDw/hT8QhdXtlX0/s320/bowmaker.jpg" border="0" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5586839484792261890" /></a>I was surfing the net the other night and visited one of my all time favorite blogs, Becca's <a href="http://www.amazingpapergrace.com/">Amazing Paper Grace</a> (if you haven't checked out her site you just HAVE to, she is an amazing lady with an amazing talent), anyways, she had made her own peg board bow maker which makes tying professional looking bows a breeze!! Apparently I'm a little behind with this knowledge, but once I saw Becca use her bow maker I just had to have one NOW!!<div>Mind you this was at about 10 o'clock last night, and with Bunnings closed I had to use my female ingenuity, and I came up with this.</div><div>Very rudimentary but it works!! Ok, so the pencils wobble around a little bit and transfer tape isn't overly sticky to keep the pencils straight but it did the job :)</div><div> Hubby now has the measurements needed to make me my own peg board bow maker.</div><div>I'll post an update when he's finished it.</div><div><br /></div><div>Cheers for now,</div><div><br /></div><div>shell xoxo</div>shellhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05982364848477312718noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2676555794920781578.post-28538950774883776352011-03-21T16:17:00.004+11:002011-03-21T16:23:15.659+11:00One page wonder!<a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-IetWFn4A1oA/TYbf6sld7tI/AAAAAAAABDo/OI921y98b34/s1600/onepagewonder2.jpg"><img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-IetWFn4A1oA/TYbf6sld7tI/AAAAAAAABDo/OI921y98b34/s320/onepagewonder2.jpg" border="0" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5586398587293396690" /></a><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-VwheoJ8vFus/TYbf6QGcmcI/AAAAAAAABDg/vNodaH22igY/s1600/Pictures%2B-%2BShortcut.lnk.jpg"><img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-VwheoJ8vFus/TYbf6QGcmcI/AAAAAAAABDg/vNodaH22igY/s320/Pictures%2B-%2BShortcut.lnk.jpg" border="0" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5586398579647093186" /></a><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-SE5vJ8H_EQs/TYbf6NcaxMI/AAAAAAAABDY/9h4qUOUroZY/s1600/onpagewonder4.jpg"><img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-SE5vJ8H_EQs/TYbf6NcaxMI/AAAAAAAABDY/9h4qUOUroZY/s320/onpagewonder4.jpg" border="0" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5586398578933941442" /></a><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-vpj8oZbdUYw/TYbf5978OUI/AAAAAAAABDQ/tz_0jV5Ausw/s1600/onepagewonder3.jpg"><img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 240px; height: 320px;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-vpj8oZbdUYw/TYbf5978OUI/AAAAAAAABDQ/tz_0jV5Ausw/s320/onepagewonder3.jpg" border="0" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5586398574771190082" /></a>Ok, I'm on a roll today!! Here's a file I made on Gazza and I'm calling the one page wonder. The pictures above are in back-to-front order but you get the idea:) I cut the circle and the score lines out on my Gazelle and then using a combination of mountain and valley folds created this little gift box. The best part is NO GLUE NEEDED!! Imagine the ways you could embellish this little beauty! Once again, if you'd like a WPC file of this then just leave a comment and then email me and I'll get it off to you ASAP.<div><br /></div><div>Thanks for looking!!</div><div><br /></div><div>shell xoxo</div>shellhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05982364848477312718noreply@blogger.com0
